Software Engineering Intern, Frontend (fall co-op)

What we’re building Respan is building the self-driving observability and evals platform for AI teams, used by 60+ YC companies and hundreds of AI teams.

The role

This internship is for builders who already use AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex to move fast. You will work alongside the engineering team, shipping real product features using vibe coding workflows: prompting, iterating, and reviewing AI-generated code to build production software. We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, learns quickly, and is excited about the future of AI-assisted development. You will get hands-on experience building developer tools at a startup where your work ships to thousands of users.

What you’ll do:

• Build and ship product features using AI-assisted development workflows
• Prototype new ideas quickly using LLM-powered coding tools
• Review, test, and iterate on AI-generated code to meet production standards
• Collaborate with the engineering team on full-stack projects (React, Next.js, Python)
• Contribute to internal tooling and automation that improves team velocity

What you must have:

• Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex
• Basic understanding of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new tools quickly
• Willingness to work in person in Bay Area, CA

Strong plus:

• Personal projects or portfolio demonstrating use of AI-assisted development
• Familiarity with React, Next.js, or Python
• Interest in developer tools, LLMs, and the AI ecosystem
• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field
