AWS DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) New York, NY (Onsite/Hybrid) Contract / Contract-to-Hire GC, USC
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support a high-performance cloud infrastructure environment for a leading hedge fund in New York. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Python , and will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure to support critical trading and analytics platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain AWS-based cloud infrastructure for high-availability applications
Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
Build automation and operational tooling using Python scripting
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments
Monitor system performance, reliability, and availability, implementing proactive improvements
Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis
Improve observability using monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks
Collaborate with development, data engineering, and trading technology teams to ensure reliable platform operations
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering
Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
Experience deploying and managing applications with Kubernetes (K8s)
Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
Strong scripting experience using Python
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and distributed systems
Preferred Skills
Experience working in financial services, trading platforms, or hedge fund environments
Experience with container orchestration, observability tools, and infrastructure monitoring
Familiarity with Linux systems administration and performance tuning
