Position Overview: Cloud Architect

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to support one of our premier clients in Washington, DC. This role requires deep expertise in migrating ERP applications to cloud-native environments across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding cloud strategy, architecture, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead cloud architecture design and implementation across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Migrate ERP applications to cloud-native platforms.

Ensure alignment with enterprise standards in data, security, infrastructure, and platform architecture.

Provide technical leadership in cloud technologies including OS, virtualization, orchestration, and scalability.

Develop and enforce cloud architecture governance and best practices.

Troubleshoot complex issues across IaaS, PaaS, applications, and networks.

Collaborate with executive stakeholders and technical teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

Define system scope and objectives based on business needs and industry standards.

Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Experience and Skills

5+ years of Cloud DevOps experience

5+ years of experience across multiple technologies including application development, relational or NoSQL databases, containers, and CI/CD

8+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud workloads in AWS, Azure, or GCP

8+ years of experience with cloud networking and network security (e.g., virtual networks, security groups, cloud-native firewalls)

8+ years in one or more architecture domains (e.g., business, solutions, application architecture)

8+ years preparing complex technical documentation

8+ years managing large-scale operational cloud environments across multiple tenants

3+ years of experience with microservices architecture

3+ years designing and implementing cloud-native workloads

8+ years working with application lifecycle and DevOps tools (e.g., Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation)

Certifications & Education

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect – Expert

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
