Responsibilities

Scope of Work: Cloud Infrastructure Architect
-
The Cloud Infrastructure Architect who is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure in support of the VMWare Migration to Open Shift and the multiple supporting work streams in support of this effort.
-
The Cloud Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for developing cloud architecture, overseeing the implementation of cloud services, and ensuring that cloud deployments meet the project's objectives.
-
The Cloud infrastructure Architect will act as a SME for various AWS and Azure workstreams and be knowledgeable about cloud service models like Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). The WWT consultant will also have experience working with data governance frameworks and ensure policy compliance.

The Cloud Infrastructure Architect will also be tapped as a SME, to support incident response as needed.

Key Focus Areas:

Infrastructure Design and Planning:

Design and implement hybrid cloud solutions integrating Azure, AWS, and on-premises infrastructure to meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
-
Collaborate with stakeholders to assess project requirements and design infrastructure solutions.
-
Select appropriate cloud platforms and services aligned with project goals.
-
Support the development scalable and resilient architecture solutions.
-
Provide guidance on containerization, refactoring, and optimization for cloud environments.
-
Assist in setting up automated deployment pipelines and continuous integration practices.
-
Cloud Implementation and Deployment Assistance:
-
Architect hybrid network connectivity between cloud providers and on-premises environments using VPNs, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, and SD-WAN technologies.
-
Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities in the hybrid cloud ecosystem.

Security and Compliance Guidance:
-
Architect and implement robust security and Identity Access Management (IAM) solutions to safeguard applications, data, and infrastructure across platforms.
-
Implement zero-trust networking principles, including micro-segmentation, secure remote access, and identity-based policies.
-
Conduct regular audits and security assessments.
-
Support implementation of security best practices and compliance standards.
-
Provide guidance on identity management, encryption, and access control.
-
Performance Optimization and Cost Management:
-
Recommend strategies for optimizing infrastructure performance and resource utilization.
-
Provide guidance on cost analysis, budget management, and optimization strategies.
-
Implement monitoring and alerting systems for proactive management.
-
Monitoring and Maintenance Support:
-
Continuously evaluate and optimize cloud, on-premises, and networking systems for cost efficiency, performance, and reliability.

Provide monitoring tools for real-time visibility into infrastructure health.
-
Support proactive maintenance, incident management, and troubleshooting.
-
Automate routine tasks and infrastructure management processes.
Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure.
-
Knowledge of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
-
Experienced with Infrastructure as Code.
-
Experience in managing cloud operations infrastructure, including IT security.
-
Ability to define, deliver, and support strategic plans for implementing IT technologies.

Strong understanding of cloud application design, cloud integration, and cloud management
