Role: Cybersecurity Operations Engineer (Okta)
Location: Remote

Overview
For this role, we are placing particular emphasis on candidates with strong Okta Identity Governance (OIG) experience, in addition to the previously listed requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in several of the following areas: Okta has a strong focus on Identity Governance (OIG). Hands-on expertise in Privileged Access Attestation, Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM), and identity governance
Networking
Scripting
Cybersecurity principles and best practices
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Cisco technologies
Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory (AD) infrastructure integration
Identifying critical systems and implementing least-privilege access controls
Integrating Okta with enterprise systems, particularly through APIs
Workflow and attestation development
Additionally, candidates should possess:
A solid understanding of network and security architecture, including enterprise firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint security solutions, and other security technologies
Knowledge of cybersecurity operations, including security monitoring, SIEM technologies, risk and vulnerability management, and access control/authentication frameworks
The ability to translate threat analysis into risk-based decision-making and business-aligned security priorities
Strong analytical skills to understand business requirements and develop practical, value-driven security solutions
Experience collaborating with stakeholders to address information security needs, communicate security program value, and discuss security roadmaps
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
A proactive, self-driven mindset with the ability to quickly learn complex environments and work independently
Flexibility to participate in an on-call rotation as needed
Responsibilities

Develop creative, technical, and procedural solutions that effectively secure information systems while minimizing operational overhead.

Assist in the development of security architecture and review new product implementations.

Troubleshoot security issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend effective solutions.

Provide mitigation recommendations to reduce identified security risks.

Establish and enforce security best practices, protection objectives, process improvements, and effective security controls.

Assist with security incident response activities and documentation.

Assess overall system security by evaluating vulnerabilities and associated threats.

Analyze the impact of software installations, configuration changes, and infrastructure modifications to minimize downtime while implementing security recommendations.

Mentor junior team members on security operations processes and procedures.

Advise internal teams on security features, controls, and procedures.

Conduct scheduled security reviews of technologies, operations, and personnel.

Participate in annual reviews of security policies, procedures, and controls to support security framework assessments.

Education & Experience
-
8+ years of Information Security experience
-
5+ years implementing and enforcing security directives, policies, standards, and regulations
-
5+ years working with software and security architectures, security protocols, and industry standards
-
3+ years of networking concepts and services experience
-
5+ years administering IT systems, LAN/WAN environments, telecommunications, and security technologies, including Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

5+ years conducting risk assessments, IT audits, compliance reviews, or security framework gap analyses

5+ years working with cloud security standards and cloud administration across multiple cloud providers
