Data Engineer

We're looking for a Data Engineer to join an enterprise data team on a critical pipeline audit and remediation engagement. The core deliverable in the first 30 days is a comprehensive end-to-end audit of data pipelines across CosmosDB, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Power BI, culminating in a prioritized remediation plan presented to leadership. This is not a greenfield build — we need someone who can diagnose and fix an existing system under pressure.

The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with the Azure data stack (CosmosDB, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL), strong SQL skills for query optimization and validation, and Power BI experience that includes connecting reporting layers back to underlying data. Beyond the technology, we're looking for someone who works from architecture down to specifics — not from tickets up. They should be querying tables and inspecting schemas on day one, not scheduling meetings. They need to own the full vertical: understanding the connection between what the pipeline produces and what the client sees in reporting. This person surfaces findings, blockers, and next steps without being asked.
