Cloud Expert/ Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer – "they are not architecting other cloud platforms, only servicing the current data on the current cloud – see what is going on, optimize spend/reduce cost."

The manager is looking for a mid-level Data Engineer with a strategy driven mindset to analyze their area of business's cloud spend with hopes for finding gaps, solving challenges, and providing solutions for cost savings and driving value. This person will be 3+ years' experience, have a DBA background and know how to strategize/be a visionary leader. Currently the Cloud Spend is around $20M and the team's goal is to at minimum, resolve areas of overspending, closing gaps and saving $1M >. If this person is able to optimize the cloud and drive significate value while saving money, this will allow for a potential contract extension. He is in need of someone who is able to articulate their findings, explain in detail the steps taken and ways of problem solving all while delivering those results – diagnostically. Though this candidate is expected to be able to dive in right away, they will also be mentored by Sai.

Day to Day:

Cloud spending optimization is the practice of reducing unnecessary costs and improving the efficiency of cloud resource usage while still meeting performance, reliability, and scalability requirements. It's essential for organizations to avoid "cloud waste," which occurs when resources are overprovisioned, idle, or underutilized. The overall day to day will be to navigate the cloud and perform end to end process on findings, processes and solutions.
