About the role
Junior Security Analyst
Type: Contract (W2)
Length: 12+ months
Location: Role is 100% remote, some travel onsite for meetings (about 2 weeks per year)
Must be comfortable working EST time zone hours.
Interview Process: 1 round, phone
Required Skills for this position:
• Ability to communicate vulnerability information to non-security personnel
• Working knowledge of web applications
• Working knowledge of databases such as Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL
• Strong understanding of networking (Nmap tool, Wireshark, and vulnerability scanning)
Preferred Skills:
• Experience performing searching in SIEM
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
• Experience with NIST 800-53
Preferred Certification:
SECURITY +
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
VULNERABILITY SCANNING AND COORDINATE REMEDIATION WITH RESPONSIBLE TEAMS
DEPLOY AND MANAGE EDR
REVIEW FIREWALL REQUESTS
RESEARCH AND ASSESS NEWLY RELEASED VULNERABILITIES
ASSIST WITH INCIDENT RESPONSE AND INVESTIGATION
ASSIST WITH GRC ASSESSMENTS
CREATE ALERTS IN SIEM BASED OFF DATA FROM VARIOUS SECURITY TOOLS
