Candidates need to have a high lever experience on a z/OS system, z/OS network experience, DR Migration experience. The candidates that have been getting rejected showed more experience in Subsystems and non z/OS platforms or limited experience in z/OS platforms.

This is not an application development position. This is strictly for Systems Programming. No DBA's, Applications Developers or Analysts.

HERE IS WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Key words to look for at CICS, SMP/E, Sysplex, MVS, Disaster recovery, modernization, z/OS, JCL

Experience with utility programs and products including: IDCAMS, CLISTS/REXX, SORT, TSO, JCL

This is not a DB2 or Cobol positions.

Interview: Could be just one round if the candidate is good. Video interview.

Must be able to work EST time zone

Must be able to go to corporate office in Pittsburg, PA once a quarter for meeting

Lead Mainframe z/OS Platform Infrastructure Systems Programmer/Admin - REMOTE - 1701

Location: Remote in the US

Employment Type: Full-time employment

Responsibilities

• Leads teams in clearly defining, with the customer, the most complex requirements, deliverables and timeframes. Escalates issues and make recommendations to resolve them to the appropriate audience.

• Leads the most complex root cause analysis to identify and resolve complex problems impacting IT Infrastructure.

• Leads the development and/or delivery of the most complex technical training in technical areas. Mentors less experienced team members in the execution of their duties.

• Leads the completion of the most complex project tasks to enable the on time, within budget and scope delivery of IT Infrastructure projects.

• Assures compliance to required standards, procedures, guidelines and processes.

• Other duties as assigned or requested.

• Required Experience:

• 10+ years of experience at an expert level z/OS system, z/OS network experience.

• Well versed working with Disaster Recovery Migration.

• z/OS Mainframe Systems Programming including SMP/E, DB2, IMS, CICS, Sysplex, TCP/IP, JCL.

• Able to work off-hours and weekends and scheduled, 24x7x365 on-call responsibilities.

• Experience working with vendors to resolve software and systems issues

• Skilled at communicating with all levels of management

• Good project management skills

• Ability to learn quickly and apply highly complex and technical concepts in a highly available environment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
