Lead Mainframe Platform Engineer

Candidates MUST be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

They need to understand the position does not work with any of the application development programming languages. The position is to put the infrastructure environment in place for the application developers.

Required Experience:

10 plus years' experience with IBM z/Series mainframe 7+ years of experience at an expert level z/OS Mainframe Systems Programming background, including SMPE, DB2, IMS, and CICS. Experience working with vendors to resolve software and systems issues Good project management skills Able to work off-hours and weekends and scheduled, 24x7x365 on-call responsibilities. Ability to learn quickly and apply highly complex and technical concepts in a highly available environment.

Responsibilities

Leads teams in clearly defining, with the customer, the most complex requirements, deliverables and timeframes. Escalates issues and make recommendations to resolve them to the appropriate audience. Leads the most complex root cause analysis to identify and resolve complex problems impacting IT Infrastructure. Leads the development and/or delivery of the most complex technical training in technical areas. Mentors less experienced team members in the execution of their duties. Leads the completion of the most complex project tasks to enable the on time, within budget and scope delivery of IT Infrastructure projects. Assures compliance to required standards, procedures, guidelines and processes. Other duties as assigned or requested.
