Lead MONGO DBA

Must work on site in one of the locations:

Charlotte, NC

Columbus, OH

Dallas, TX

Des Moines, IA

Minneapolis, MN

Phoenix/Chandler, AZ

Participate in the support of applications and interfaces for both development and production support teams

• Act as subject matter professional in performance tuning

• Apply knowledge of Disaster Recovery setup and testing

• Review and analyze Outage Management Systems to ensure backend tuning and monitoring is most appropriate and effective

• Maintain database systems at the latest security patch levels

• Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing

• Approve all production changes, database designs and follow the change management process

• Engage various teams of troubleshooters to assess system health and issues

• Implement monitoring that allows proactive measures to be taken minimizing system downtime

• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

• Interact with internal customers

• Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

Mongo Experience:

• Building and supporting a MongoDB Ops Manager environment

• Implementing Kerberos and/or LDAP authorization and authentication with MongoDB

• Supporting MongoDB databases scaled across data centers.

• Supporting MongoDB Shards.

• With Pearl and/or Java scripting

• With backup and restore of MongoDB databases using LVM snapshots and Ops Manager backups

• In writing MongoDB Schema using Mongos.

• With setting and tuning MongoDB system parameters

• With using MongoDB Ops Manager

• With Jira and Agile delivery

Additionally:

• In-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets.

• In-depth understanding of Replication and HA strategies

• Terraform/Ansible experience.

• 10+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

• Experience in Database Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
