Network Engineer – Project Lead (Hybrid, SC Resident Only)
Type: Contract – W2
Duration: 12 months, with possible extension.
Location: Columbia, SC -Hybrid (2 days onsite per week).

Seeking an experienced Network Engineer – Project Lead to design, implement, and support enterprise-level Cisco/Meraki network infrastructure. This role involves leading projects end-to-end, collaborating with technical teams, and ensuring secure, reliable statewide network operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot statewide WAN/LAN/wireless networks.
Configure and patch Cisco firewalls (ASA5508-X, ASA5585-X, FirePower4110/2120) and switches (3750, C9500, C9300, Nexus5k/7k).
Support Meraki switches, wireless APs, and firewalls (MX450).
Develop implementation/test plans for Cisco/Meraki deployments.
Provide remote troubleshooting with county IT partners.
Document requests, analyze logs, and enhance network performance/security.
Lead projects: define scope, drive requirements, build architectures, deliver solutions.
Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to peers.
Required Skills:
4–6 years with Cisco Firewalls, Routers, Switches.
Cisco CCNA & CCNP certification (4–6 years).
Strong experience with Wireshark.
Ability to clearly communicate infrastructure design/decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills:
Cisco ISE, VPN, Hardware Administration (4–6 years).
5+ years designing/operating LAN/MAN/WAN networks.
Microsoft network communications (MCSE), hybrid networking, Azure connectivity/security.
Tools: Cisco FMC, ASDM, ISE, Putty, PowerShell, Wireshark, Nmap, SIEM, Cisco Security Manager.
