Job Description –

Specialization: Migration from On-Premise CheckPoint to Fortinet Cloud (Azure)

Position Description

We are looking for a Network Security Engineer (MID-level) with experience in cybersecurity and network environments to lead and execute security infrastructure migration projects from on-premise CheckPoint solutions to Fortinet Cloud solutions (Azure).

The candidate will participate in all phases of the service lifecycle: assessment, design, migration, deployment, optimization, and support for pre-sales activities.

Main Responsibilities

Migration and Transformation

Execute migration projects from on-premise CheckPoint firewalls to Fortinet (FortiGate / FortiCloud)

Use migration tools (e.g., FortiMigrator) for policy conversion

Analyze legacy configurations and define migration strategies

Validate functional integrity after migration

Cloud & Infrastructure

Deploy Fortinet appliances in Azure environments (virtual appliances)

Design and implement secure cloud architectures (landing zones, hubs, spokes)

Migrate non-prod / pre-prod / prod infrastructure to the cloud

Security Configuration

Define, configure, and optimize:

Firewall rules (L3–L7)

NAT, VPN (IPSec / SSL)

Security and segmentation policies

Perform security infrastructure hardening

Operations and Support

Troubleshoot network and security incidents

Validate performance and tune platforms

Prepare technical documentation and handover to operations teams

Pre-sales Support (nice to have)

Support in:

Solution definition

Estimations (pricing, sizing, target)

Preparation of technical proposals

Technical Requirements

Mandatory

Experience with CheckPoint (administration/migration)

Experience with Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)

Networking knowledge:

Routing / Switching

VPN (IPSec, SSL)

NAT, segmentation

Experience with Azure (IaaS networking)

Experience deploying virtual firewalls in cloud environments

Preferred

Experience with migration tools (FortiMigrator)

Knowledge of other vendors (Palo Alto, Cisco, etc.)

Certifications:

NSE (Fortinet)

Azure (AZ-104, AZ-500)

CheckPoint (CCSA/CCSE)

Required Experience

3–5 years in network security / firewalling

Proven experience in firewall platform migration projects

Participation in cloud projects (preferably Azure)

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work autonomously in technical execution

Communication skills with both technical and business teams

Results-oriented with strong deadline commitment

Location & Work Model

Miami / hybrid remote model (depending on the project)

Team & Environment

Work within enterprise environments (banking / insurance / telecom)

Collaboration with architecture, cloud, and cybersecurity team

Interaction with technical profiles such as Miguel Gallego, if applicable to the project
