Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in Financial Services to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing, configuring, and managing PostgreSQL databases , with hands-on experience in logical and streaming replication . Additionally, you will play a key role in building and deploying Python-based API microservices to support enterprise-scale data solutions. Experience with ClickHouse will be considered a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, set up, and optimize PostgreSQL database environments , including logical and streaming replication.

• Develop, deploy, and maintain Python API microservices for data access and integration.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data solutions tailored for the financial services domain.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance database performance, replication, and availability.

• Leverage ClickHouse or similar columnar database solutions for advanced analytics (preferred).

• Partner with cross-functional teams (data scientists, architects, and application developers) to support business intelligence and real-time data initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer (Financial Services experience strongly preferred).

• Strong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL database administration and development.

• Proven experience with logical replication and streaming replication in PostgreSQL.

• Proficiency in Python with a focus on building API microservices (Flask, FastAPI, or Django REST preferred).

• Familiarity with ClickHouse or other distributed analytical databases (preferred).

• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, monitoring, and high availability practices.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Nice to Have

• Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with managed PostgreSQL services (Aurora, Cloud SQL, etc.).

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Exposure to real-time streaming platforms (Kafka, Pulsar).
