Job Title: Senior Data Scientist, Agentic AI

Employment Type: Contract (10/1/2025 – 12/31/2025, possible contract-to-hire).

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

The Data Science Lab (DSL) drives innovation, testing, and scaling of cutting-edge AI to reimagine insurance in the age of agentic AI and LLMs .

Role Overview: THE COMPANY seeks a Senior Data Scientist, Agentic AI to design, build, and operationalize agentic AI systems, LLMs, and intelligent automation solutions . This high-visibility role involves direct collaboration with senior executives to bring next-generation AI to life, driving transformation in underwriting, claims, customer service, and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Education: PhD + 2 years, or Master's + 4 years in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, or related field.

• Experience: 3+ years hands-on AI/ML development.

• Technical:

• Strong foundation in probability, statistics, optimization, ML algorithms.

• Expertise in Python (PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangGraph) .

• Experience with agentic AI, autonomous systems, reasoning, reinforcement learning .

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, ability to collaborate cross-functionally with senior leaders, strong mentoring/leadership ability.

• Other: Analytical, detail-oriented, and execution-focused.

• Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy agentic AI solutions that automate workflows, enhance decision-making, and improve user experiences.

• Operationalize LLMs and generative AI to process unstructured data (contracts, claims, medical records, customer interactions).

• Build autonomous agents and multi-step reasoning systems integrated with THE COMPANY's platforms.

• Collaborate with engineers and AIOps teams to ensure solutions are production-ready, scalable, and robust .

• Translate research in reinforcement learning and reasoning into practical enterprise solutions.

• Define use cases, design solutions, and measure ROI with business leaders and product teams.

• Contribute to DSL frameworks for testing, deployment, and standardization of AI/ML practices .

• Mentor junior data scientists and promote technical best practices.
