About the role
Job Title: Systems Lead
Location: Remote
Length: 6 months - extension likely
Systems Lead:
Core Technical Skills (Must-Have)
- Print Systems Architecture & Management
o Expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise print environments (e.g., thermal and label printers, print servers, drivers, and queues).
- Systems Integration
o Ability to integrate print workflows with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) and pharmacy databases.
- Networking & Infrastructure
o Understanding of network printing protocols (IPP, LPR/LPD, SMB, TCP/IP) and Windows Print Server or cloud print management tools.
- Scripting & Automation
o Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting tools to automate deployments or manage print configurations.
- Cloud & Virtualization Awareness
o Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtual desktop environments (Citrix, VMware, etc.) used in enterprise healthcare settings.
Healthcare & Compliance Skills
- Healthcare Workflow Knowledge
o Understanding of print use cases in clinical and pharmacy workflows (e.g., prescription labels, patient wristbands, discharge instructions).
- Data Privacy & Security
o Strong grasp of HIPAA, PHI, and data protection best practices when handling healthcare print data.
Problem-Solving & Support Skills
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
o Skilled in root cause analysis and remote diagnostics for print and network issues.
- Customer-Centric Mindset
o Ability to design and deploy solutions that enhance end-user experience in fast-paced, regulated environments.
Collaboration & Communication Skills
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
o Experience working with IT, operations, clinical, and pharmacy teams.
- Technical Communication
o Ability to explain complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders and provide clear documentation.
- Training & Support
o Capability to train end users and provide ongoing technical support.
Bonus but Strongly Preferred
• Project management (e.g., leading rollouts, coordinating vendors).
• Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or vendor print tech certifications like Zebra or HP).
• Experience in healthcare IT environments (Epic integration experience is a strong plus).
