Application Development Engineer - Electronics Materials Solutions

Location : Bengaluru, India Division : Electronics Materials Solutions Division (EMSD) Department : R&D Reporting To : Application Engineering Manager - Consumer Electronics What You ll Do As an Application Development Engineer , you will play a critical role in developing next-generation materials and solutions for global consumer electronics leaders. Your responsibilities will include: Working closely with global teams to develop and replicate high-impact applications in adhesives and conductive materials. Identifying the best 3M solutions for customer needs through in-depth understanding, testing, and analysis. Supporting new product launches by creating technical documentation, demo tools, training resources, and videos. Gathering customer insights and providing input on new product ideas, competitive intelligence , and intellectual property . Specifying 3M products at OEMs and Tier suppliers , and supporting the business handover to manufacturing teams worldwide. Developing and maintaining lab infrastructure , equipment planning, and capital expenditure inputs. Delivering technical training to internal teams, distributors, and customers both in-person and online. Using digital tools and content to enable more productive and effective sales engagements. What We re Looking For We re seeking someone who combines strong technical knowledge with business acumen and a customer-first mindset. Qualifications: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Electronics . 4+ years of experience in customer-facing engineering roles, preferably in the electronics segment . Familiarity with adhesives, conductive materials, and related applications is a strong advantage. Proficiency in using testing and analytical instruments . Understanding of IP protocols and documentation . Ability to identify new opportunities and propose value-driven solutions . Self-starter with excellent collaboration, planning, and communication skills. Experience in key account management and networking with internal/external stakeholders. Knowledge of converting processes like die-cutting and slitting is desirable. Capability to create digital training/demo content using video and editing tools .
