DB2/Oracle Database Lead The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a DB2 and Oracle Database Lead, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world The Database Lead will be responsible for managing supported Database technologies, both in the cloud and on premises Here, you will make an impact by: Developing our future database technology strategy and vision for 3M, including cloud opportunities Acting as a Product Owner for multiple database technologies and representing Database teams on cross-functional projects Enabling global follow the sun support for Database Technologies expanding DBS capability for services and support Developing and supporting automation and tools to support database environments, supporting ongoing lifecycle management and ensuring compliance Controls are maintained to protect data Participating in Agile Scrum teams, working as part of the Team to accomplish and oversee the daily support and planned project work escalating unresolved or critical issues to relevant resolver teams or senior DBAs Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution Minimum of seven (7+) years of IT professional experience, including at least five (5) years of experience supporting DB2 and/or Oracle database technologies Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting databases in a cloud environment (AWS preferred), and at least three (3) years of experience working with database high availability Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Experience with open-source databases including MYSQL and PostgreSQL databases, demonstrated ability to work on projects in a technical environment with emphasis on Agile methodology Experience in scripting including Python and PowerShell working with automating the DBA tasks (Installation and other tasks) Cross-functional IT expertise (applications, information security, networking) familiarity with encryption and data protection tools Knowledge of 3rd party backup utilities, ie, Commvault, Data Protector, expertise in troubleshooting and performance tuning flexible to work in rotational shifts to support on call on weekends Work Location: Hebbal, Bangalore (Karnataka), Hybrid Mode Disclaimer: This job posting has been aggregated from external source.
