Retail IT Administrator Job Summary The Retail IT Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the overall IT infrastructure across A to Z Groups Supermarkets and Hypermarket operations, including stores and head office. The role focuses on hardware, network, systems administration, security, and technical support to ensure uninterrupted business operations. Key Responsibilities IT Infrastructure & Systems Management Manage and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, desktops, POS systems, printers, and network devices across all locations. Ensure uptime and performance of systems supporting supermarket and hypermarket operations. Install, configure, and upgrade hardware, operating systems, and applications. Network & Security Administration Monitor and manage LAN/WAN networks, internet connectivity, and firewall systems. Implement and maintain IT security policies including antivirus, patch management, access controls, and data protection. Ensure secure access to systems, emails, and applications across the organization. Technical Support & Issue Resolution Provide L1/L2 technical support for hardware, network, and system-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve system failures, connectivity issues, and device malfunctions. Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for escalations and AMC support. POS & Store IT Support Ensure smooth functioning of POS machines, billing systems, barcode scanners, and peripherals. Support new store openings, IT setups, and system rollouts. Maintain uptime during peak retail hours with quick issue resolution. IT Asset Management Manage procurement, installation, and lifecycle of IT assets. Maintain inventory of IT equipment across stores and head office. Ensure preventive maintenance and proper utilization of assets. Data Backup & System Monitoring Implement and monitor data backup systems and disaster recovery processes. Ensure data integrity and system reliability. Monitor system logs and performance for proactive issue handling. Documentation & Compliance Maintain IT documentation, SOPs, network diagrams, and asset registers. Support audits and ensure compliance with IT policies and statutory requirements. Train staff on basic IT usage and security best practices. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in IT Administration, preferably in retail/supermarket environments Experience handling multi-location IT operations Exposure to POS systems and retail IT infrastructure Strong technical orientation with ability to manage both hardware and network environments. Preference would be for Candidates from retail supermarket/hypermarket industry and for Palakkad candidates.
