Role Overview: As a Technical Architect at AcadAlly, you will be responsible for defining and driving the overall technology architecture of the company's products. You will work closely with product, engineering, AI, and business teams to build scalable systems capable of supporting millions of student learning interactions, real-time analytics, and AI-driven educational experiences. This role requires a strong blend of system design expertise, hands-on technical leadership, cloud architecture knowledge, and the ability to mentor engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: - Architecture & System Design: - Define and own the end-to-end architecture of AcadAlly's platform and products. - Design scalable, secure, and highly available systems capable of handling large-scale student and teacher usage. - Lead architectural decisions across web, mobile, backend, AI, and data platforms. - Drive the adoption of microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures where appropriate. - Engineering Leadership: - Partner with engineering teams to translate product requirements into robust technical solutions. - Establish coding standards, architecture guidelines, and engineering best practices. - Conduct architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical evaluations. - Mentor developers and engineering leads on system design and scalability principles. - Cloud & Infrastructure: - Architect and optimize cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Drive infrastructure scalability, monitoring, reliability, and cost optimization. - Design CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and disaster recovery frameworks. - Implement containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes. - Data & AI Systems: - Design systems supporting learning analytics, behavioural insights, and AI-powered educational products. - Architect data pipelines for real-time and batch processing. - Enable seamless integration of LLMs and AI services such as OpenAI, Claude, and future AI models. - Collaborate with AI and data teams to build scalable personalization and recommendation engines. - Security & Compliance: - Ensure platform security, privacy, and compliance with educational data standards. - Establish best practices for authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection. - Conduct architecture reviews focused on performance, reliability, and risk mitigation. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 6-12 years of experience in software engineering, system design, and architecture roles. - Proven experience designing and scaling production-grade applications. - Strong expertise in distributed systems, API design, microservices, and cloud-native architectures. - Deep understanding of database architecture across SQL and NoSQL systems. - Hands-on experience with modern backend technologies such as Python, Django, Node.js, Java, or equivalent. - Experience leading technical teams and driving architectural decisions. - Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
