About the role
As a Storage & Backup Administrator at our innovative company, your role involves developing and documenting system specifications, implementing hardware and OS, maintaining high operational uptime, and coordinating with various teams. Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications required for this position: Key Responsibilities: - Perform tasks to meet service level agreements with end-users regarding storage allocations, limitations, security, and availability - Test backups and restores to ensure effective protection of enterprise data - Enforce data storage retention policies through system procedures - Follow change control, incident response, and testing processes for modifications to storage appliances and software - Identify and resolve issues with storage devices, access, and data retrieval - Monitor and analyze trends for storage equipment performance, space allocation, and data growth - Stay informed on storage laws, trends, technologies, and advise management teams - Ensure information storage measures adhere to applicable laws and regulations - Conduct storage server/database transaction and security audits for threat mitigation - Create reports based on business user needs - Develop, document, and maintain operational processes - Understanding of Storage & backup automation - Maintain documentation related to patching processes - Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours patching activities Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in related field or relevant experience - Minimum 5+ years of experience in Storage & Backup administration - Excellent communication skills - Fluency in English, both written and spoken - Highly motivated with a positive attitude - Strong analytical and reporting skills - Ability to work well in a team environment - Critical thinking, deductive thinking, and problem-solving skills Additional Requirements: - Willingness to work in 24x7 shifts and on-call schedule Training: The post holder will be expected to undergo training to keep skills current.
