About the role
The Package Manager (Rotary) holds end-to-end responsibility for rotating equipment packages across both pre-bid proposal and post-order execution stages, ensuring compliance with international codes, technical standards, and project downstream engineering requirements. Key Responsibilities: Proposal & Pre-Order Stage: Prepare basic designs, schematics, and preliminary inputs for downstream engineering. Review tender documents, interact with clients/statutory bodies for specifications compliance, secure budgetary vendor quotes, and estimate final package costs. Post-Order Execution: Generate comprehensive RFQs and technical design documents, including Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), based on upstream engineering data. Bid Evaluation & Vendor Management: Review vendor offers, perform technical bid analysis (TBA), and lead vendor interactions to finalize technical documents and drawings. Cross-Functional Coordination: Manage technical correspondence with clients, consultants, and internal engineering disciplines. Cater to downstream information workflows. Quality & Audits: Participate in technical reviews, quality audits, and vendor performance evaluations. Drive vendor development activities specifically for rotating equipment. Site & Execution Support: Provide technical site support for construction, commissioning, and engineering troubleshooting as required. Team Leadership: Efficiently handle multiple concurrent projects while driving capability and skill upgradation for the engineering staff. Technical Competencies: Deep knowledge of compressor types, applications, and selecting selection codes. Expertise in domestic and international codes/standards for pumps, blowers, and agitators (e.g., API, ISO standards). Strong awareness of process safety frameworks and hazardous area classification/requirements. Hands-on knowledge or awareness of engineering analyzing tools like FEA (Finite Element Analysis) is a distinct advantage.
