Must have skills : ASP.NET MVC, .NET Architecture, C# Programming Language, Investment Banking Good to have skills : NA Minimum 5 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: As a Custom Software Engineer Back End (.NET/C#) Senior, a typical day involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications using modern .NET technologies. The role includes developing distributed and event-driven systems, collaborating with architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders, and ensuring software meets both functional and non-functional requirements. The engineer drives engineering best practices, mentors team members, leverages AI-assisted development tools responsibly, and contributes throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to deliver secure, high-quality software solutions. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform. - Responsible for team decisions. - Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. - Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams. - Lead the implementation of best practices and standards within the team to ensure consistent quality. - Mentor junior team members to support their professional growth and skill development. - Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. - Monitor project progress and proactively address any challenges to meet delivery timelines. - Work closely with Architects/Principal Engineers to build solutions aligned with business and IT strategy. - Partner with QA teams to ensure delivery of high-quality software through unit testing, code reviews, and quality engineering practices. - Take ownership and accountability for the development of key features from design through deployment. - Deliver solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements. - Leverage AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, code assistants, automation tools) responsibly to improve developer productivity, code quality, and delivery speed while complying with enterprise governance. - Experiment with modern technologies and engineering methodologies to deliver the best technical solutions. - Communicate project progress, risks, and impediments effectively to ensure successful delivery. - Participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, and post-release support. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must Have Skills: Proficiency in ASP.NET MVC, .NET 7.0 or newer, .NET Web API Services, C#, .NET Architecture, GraphQL, Git, Visual Studio, Jira, Confluence, DAPR Sidecar & Actor Host, Redis OM, OpenTelemetry, Serilog, Event-Driven Microservices Architecture, and SAFe/Agile. - Strong expertise in modern .NET Framework, .NET Core, and C# application development. - Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and software design patterns. - Experience designing and developing distributed, real-time, and event-driven applications. - Experience with asynchronous messaging and distributed system components. - Strong experience in relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL), including schema design and performance optimization. - Experience developing RESTful APIs and GraphQL services. - Knowledge of AWS (or similar cloud platforms), including deployment and asset management. - Familiarity with GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, package management, and DevOps practices. - Knowledge of AI capabilities, limitations, and responsible usage in software engineering while complying with enterprise governance. - Experience with Agile methodologies and the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). - Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. - Experience writing technical documentation, test tools, and Proof of Concepts (POCs). - Ability to evaluate technical designs and recommend improvements to achieve optimal project outcomes. - Experience with WPF application development is preferred for desktop application scenarios. - Good to Have Skills: Experience working with Financial Services, Trading Platforms, and Financial Markets. - Knowledge of FIX Protocol and experience handling FIX interactions. - Understanding of Java and JavaScript. - Experience with AWS Services, Serverless Architecture, and Microservices. - Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD). - Knowledge of application performance optimization and distributed system architecture. - Experience building Proof of Custom
