Job Title: IT Manager Department: Information Technology Reports To: Head of Institution / Director / Administrative Head Job Summary The IT Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and monitoring the institutions IT infrastructure and digital ecosystem. This includes ensuring seamless operation of academic and administrative systems, data security, digital learning platforms, and overall IT support for staff and students. Key Responsibilities 1. IT Infrastructure Management Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, servers, and networks. Ensure high availability and performance of IT systems across campus. Manage LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity. Maintain IT assets and inventory. 2. Academic Technology Support Support digital learning platforms (LMS, Smart Classrooms, ERP systems). Coordinate with academic staff for technology-enabled teaching. Ensure smooth functioning of online classes, exams, and digital tools. 3. ERP & School Management Systems Manage and maintain School ERP systems (Admissions, Attendance, Fees, HR, Exams). Coordinate with vendors for upgrades and troubleshooting. Generate MIS reports for management decision-making. 4. Cybersecurity & Data Protection Implement data security policies and backup procedures. Ensure protection against cyber threats, viruses, and unauthorized access. Monitor firewall, antivirus, and network security systems. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. 5. IT Support & Helpdesk Provide technical support to staff, students, and administration. Resolve hardware/software issues within defined timelines. Train users on IT systems and applications. 6. Vendor & AMC Management Liaise with external vendors for procurement, AMC, and support services. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions. Ensure cost-effective IT operations. 7. Digital Transformation & Innovation Drive implementation of new technologies in education (AI tools, digital labs, etc.). Suggest improvements for automation and process efficiency. Support online admissions, digital communication, and mobile apps. 8. Compliance & Documentation Maintain IT policies, SOPs, and documentation. Ensure compliance with institutional and statutory IT requirements. Conduct periodic IT audits. Key Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of networking, servers, and cloud technologies Experience in School ERP / LMS platforms Cybersecurity awareness Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Leadership and team management Vendor management and negotiation Communication and training ability Educational Qualification Bachelors / Master’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field Certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, ITIL (preferred) Experience 3–6 years of experience in IT management Minimum 2–3 years in an educational institution (preferred) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) System uptime and network availability Resolution time for IT issues User satisfaction levels Data security compliance Successful implementation of IT projects Working Conditions Full-time role based on campus May require extended hours during exams, admissions, or system upgrades
