Job Title Specialist, Electrical Engineer Surveillance Position Summary As a Specialist Electrical Engineer within our Surveillance product line, you will focus on developing TCAS and transponder avionics for commercial aircraft. This responsibility spans concept generation, design, qualification, production support, and lifecycle management. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, as well as operations and manufacturing organizations, to develop and deliver avionics products to customers worldwide. This role supports senior engineers in developing detailed analysis and documentation, executing hands-on testing and simulations, and contributing to electrical hardware design and product development activities. Key Responsibilities Design and support digital, analog, and power circuitry, with supplemental RF principles, for avionics applicationsDesign, analyze, and test circuits utilizing microprocessors, memory, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, PCIe, and various avionics interfacesSupport production operations and resolve factory issues affecting assigned productsDevelop and review electrical schematics using AltiumDevelop PCB layouts for multifunction boards of up to 18 layers using AltiumDevelop change impact analyses and support product management activities including obsolescence management, design-to-cost, and design-for-manufacturability initiativesUtilize electrical analysis tools for power distribution, stress analysis, and related simulationsCommunicate effectively across multiple technical disciplines and engineering teamsWork directly with U.S.-based engineering teams to support global product development activitiesSupport electrical integration, product qualification, and engineering investigationsPerform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experienceHands-on electrical hardware design experience across all phases of the product lifecycle including concept, design, integration, production, and testProven experience implementing value engineering and lean design practicesProven experience implementing automation and AI technologies to reduce engineering cost and cycle timeExperience using automation and AI tools to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiencyDemonstrated continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to evaluate processes and implement more effective ways of workingAbility to adopt and promote automation and AI tools to improve team speed, quality, and execution Preferred Additional Skills High-speed digital design experience including DDR4, DDR5, PCIe, Ethernet, and related interfacesSignal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) simulation, analysis, and mitigation experienceKnowledge of component derating, transient protection, reliability engineering, and worst-case analysisExperience designing DC-DC power conversion solutions including buck, boost, and flyback convertersExperience designing and qualifying AC-DC conversion systems including PFC, rectifiers, and isolated power stagesWorking knowledge of Python or C++Experience developing integrated aerospace hardware and software productsAwareness of FPGA and firmware development requirements as they impact electrical designExcellent interpersonal skills and experience working within multidisciplinary engineering organizationsStrong written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsExperience with aerospace standards including DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254Experience with Design-to-Cost and Design-for-Manufacturability methodologiesExperience supporting production and test activities across geographically distributed teamsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple programs and responsibilities simultaneouslyAbility to operate effectively with moderate supervision and direction Additional Information Acron Aviation conducts background checks and other pre-employment screening activities where permitted by applicable law.
