Purpose/Objective This job role is responsible for supporting the execution, management, and completion of PE-related projects. Reporting directly to the PE Projects Lead, this role involves ensuring that all engineering tasks are completed in alignment with project plans, timelines, and industry standards, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and compliance. Key Responsibilities of Role PE Projects Engineer - O3 Project Execution and Support: - Assist in the execution of PE projects, including site preparation, equipment installation, and commissioning, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines. - Collaborate with the PE Projects Lead to ensure all engineering activities meet design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. - Conduct on-site inspections and assessments to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with technical specifications. - Prepare and update detailed engineering drawings, technical documents, and project plans, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards. Technical Support and Problem Solving: - Provide technical support to the project team, troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues that arise during the project lifecycle. - Analyze and interpret technical data, drawings, and specifications to support decision-making and ensure successful project task completion. - Implement engineering solutions to address on-site challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and budget. - Assist in the development and implementation of engineering best practices, focusing on improving efficiency, safety, and quality in project execution. - Participate in technical meetings and reviews, providing input and recommendations to optimize project outcomes. Quality Control and Assurance: - Monitor and enforce quality control measures throughout all phases of the project, ensuring that all work meets required standards and specifications. - Conduct regular inspections and tests on materials, equipment, and systems to verify compliance with project requirements and industry regulations. - Document and report any quality issues or non-conformities, working with the project team to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence. - Assist in the development of quality assurance plans and procedures, ensuring effective implementation during project execution. Leak Detection and Prevention: - Develop and implement advanced leak detection systems for PE pipelines, utilizing the latest technologies to monitor and mitigate potential gas leaks in oil and gas distribution networks. - Conduct regular testing and maintenance to ensure system reliability. PE Welding and Jointing Techniques: - Apply specialized PE welding and jointing techniques that meet the stringent safety and durability requirements of the oil and gas industry. - Conduct quality checks on joints and fittings to prevent failures in high-risk environments. Safety and Compliance: - Ensure that all engineering activities comply with local, regional, and national safety regulations and industry standards, minimizing the risk of accidents or incidents. - Participate in safety audits and inspections, identifying potential hazards and implementing measures to mitigate risks. - Provide input on safety protocols and procedures, ensuring adherence by all team members and contractors during project execution. - Assist in the preparation of safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including engineering drawings, technical specifications, progress reports, and inspection records. - Prepare regular project status reports for the PE Projects Lead, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas requiring attention. - Assist in the preparation of as-built documentation upon project completion, ensuring that all records reflect the final state of the project. - Ensure proper filing and accessibility of all documentation, supporting future project reviews and audits. Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle. - Participate in project meetings, providing updates on engineering activities and contributing to discussions on project planning and execution. - Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines. - Provide clear and concise technical information to non-engineering team members, ensuring they understand the requirements and constraints of the project. Continuous Improvement and Learning: - Stay informed about the latest developments in PE engineering practices, technologies, and industry standards. - Identify opportunities for improving engineering processes and practices, proposing and implementing changes that enhance project performance. - Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance technical skills and knowledge, ensuring continued growth and contribution to the project team. - Share knowledge and insights with the project team, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Work Experience: 3+ years of experience, preferably in construction project management. Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects from inception to completion. Preferred Industry: Experience in the gas distribution, oil and energy, or utilities sectors.
