About the role
The role of a Lead Engineer encompasses entire responsibility for Civil Engineer deliverables. Job includes overseeing and reviewing design drawings, co-ordinating with the designers & consultants, supervising the work of engineers, provide training to new hires, and ensure smooth delivery of the design deliverable considering all the safety measures.
Educational Qualification:
B. Tech / B.E in Civil Engineering from a reputed institute/ university. Masters degree in the same is preferred.
Experiences:
Minimum 16-20 years of work experience with 5 years relevant experience in the similar role in a large/ mid sized organization.
Skills
-
Developed spread sheets for engineering calculations.

Fully conversant with AUTOCAD & MATHCAD. Concrete design, PDS frameworks.

Fully Conversant with Structural design software STAAD. Pro V8i, SAP-2000, STAAD-found.

Proficient using MS-Office Suite including WORD, EXCEL, 3D Home, POWEPOINT.

Software known: Programming Languages C, C++, Visual Basic, VBA.

To lead the Engineering team and carry out civil and structural engineering jobs Infront and engineering design, detail engineering design.

To assist discipline manager allot project civil portion manpower.

Analysis and design of different types of concrete and steel structures in OSBL and ISBL area pertaining to the field of Refinery and petrochemical industry using STAAD pro software.

Checking of models in PDS/SPR for clash check and validate the model as per design drawing.

Finalizing the requirements of the projects with the clients and execute it in collaboration with the suppliers

Ensuring the quality of tasks carried out by the engineering team; Conducting need analysis for the team, which talks about the projection on training and technical resource requirements

Eliminating redundant / obsolete processes, involved in the validation, process development, process automation to improve the quality & productivity of the team

Providing technical support to the team members to execute their project and meet the project milestones as planned

Gathering product specific inputs. Getting the approval from Government officials. Review on simulation process and review of report for certification requirements

Analysing the Structures by Staad.Pro and sometimes manually if required; Developing the design concepts through the Architectural Drawing and designing Structures through Staad.Pro

Spearheading the creation of conceptual & schematic structural designs including plans / layout plans their elevations and interfacing with clients for approval of the same.

Coordinating with contractors / builders and providing them with all the detailed construction documents; guiding a team of Designers involved in developing working drawings.

To prepare 3D models and design drawings for structures and foundations as well as shop fabrication drawings.

To supply design drawings, information and instructions to designers ensuring completeness and clearness of data and effective workflow.

Ensuring correct and accurate calculation of loads and member sizes of structure.

Ensuring suitable deployment of manpower & timely availability of manpower and technical resources to ensure timely execution of the projects

Ensure that all vendors used by the EPC/ EPCM contractor are selected, evaluated, and re-evaluated and that records of this assessment are maintained.

Regularly reviews the project status and resultant risk analysis and suggest mitigation plans.

Support project team to maintain safe systems, provide specialist advice, and practical support.

Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.

Identifying the Training Needs for the team members and to layout key training Gaps
