About the role
Job Title: System Software Engineer Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India (On-site) Experience: 4 to 7 years About the Role We are seeking a deeply technical Linux Kernel and System Software Engineer to build, optimize, and secure our high-performance networking platforms. In this role, you will work below the application layer, writing code directly inside the Linux kernel and user-space network stacks. You will be responsible for everything from network device drivers to custom routing protocols, ensuring our infrastructure handles massive data volumes with minimal latency. Key Responsibilities Kernel & Driver Development: Design, implement, and maintain custom Linux kernel modules, network device drivers, and low-level subsystem enhancements. TCP/IP Stack Optimization: Modify and fine-tune user-space and kernel-space network stacks to optimize throughput and packet processing speeds. Protocol Implementation: Code and debug core networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, BGP/OSPF, and custom transport-layer protocols. Automated Pipelines: Integrate and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, build generation, and deployment of kernel-level software. Low-Level Debugging: Troubleshoot complex system deadlocks, memory leaks, and network performance bottlenecks using kernel debuggers and packet sniffers. Core Qualifications Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electronics. Systems Programming: Expert-level C programming skills with a strong foundation in data structures and multi-threaded systems. OS & Kernel Internals: Proven experience with Linux kernel development, memory management, synchronization primitives, and interrupt handling. Networking Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the Linux network stack architecture (sk_buff, netif, socket layer) and socket programming. CI/CD & DevOps: Hands-on experience with modern automation tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Docker) applied to embedded or systems software.
