A System Administrator (SysAdmin) is responsible for managing, maintaining, and ensuring the smooth operation of an organizations IT infrastructure. Their role is critical in keeping systems secure, reliable, and efficient. 1. System Installation and Configuration Install and configure operating systems, servers, and software applications. Set up hardware such as computers, printers, and network devices. Ensure systems are properly configured for optimal performance. 2. System Maintenance and Monitoring Monitor system performance and ensure availability of all IT services. Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues. 3. User Management Create, modify, and delete user accounts. Assign permissions and access rights based on roles. Provide technical support to users. 4. Network Management Manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and internet systems. Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues. Configure routers, switches, and firewalls. 5. Security Management Implement and maintain security policies and procedures. Protect systems against viruses, malware, and cyber threats.
