Lead Devops Engineer

Job Title: Lead DevOps Engineer Seniority Level: Lead Relevant Experience: 6 - 10 Years Department: Software Engineering Employment Type: Full-time Location : Kochi - Work from Office Job Summary We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our DevOps capability across cloud and on-prem environment. This role combines hands-on engineering, platform ownership, and technical leadership. You will define and implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure, drive automation and observability maturity, and enable development teams to deliver reliably at speed. Key Responsibilities: ● Platform & Infrastructure Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-optimized infrastructure across cloud (preferably AWS) and on-prem environments Lead modernization and transformation of existing environments ● Infrastructure as Code Drive IaC adoption using Terraform / CloudFormation Standardize reusable, version-controlled infrastructure patterns ● CI/CD & Developer Enablement Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines) Enable development and QA teams to adopt and own delivery pipelines ● Observability & Reliability Implement end-to-end observability (metrics, logs, tracing) Proactively detect and resolve issues, lead incident response and RCA ● Security & Compliance Integrate DevSecOps practices into the delivery lifecycle Ensure adoption of security tools and compliance standards across teams ● Operations Excellence Ensure high availability and stability of environments through proactive monitoring and management Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and operational standards ● Leadership Mentor and guide DevOps engineers Establish best practices and drive a culture of ownership, automation, and accountability Required Skills and Qualifications 6–10 years in DevOps / Platform Engineering / SRE Strong experience with AWS (preferred) or other cloud platforms Hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation), CI/CD tooling (TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins), Containerization (Docker; Kubernetes) is a plus Solid understanding of Linux systems and networking Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Proven ability to work across teams and influence engineering practices Excellent communication and leadership skills Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Engineering.
