About the role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join the core team responsible for building and scaling our next-generation internal CI/CD platform. In this role, you will serve as a bridge between current operational needs and the future-state platform, using deep insights from production workflows to design, build, and automate high-performance deployment engines. You will dive deep into containerized workflows, solving complex production issues and ensuring our users have a seamless deployment experience. What youll Do: - Engineer the Next-Gen Platform: Actively contribute to the design and development of the organizations next-generation CI/CD ecosystem, using insights from the current platform to build superior, self- healing deployment paths. - Deep-Dive Debugging: Investigate and root-cause failures in containerized workflows deployed at scale, specifically within Kubernetes environments and Argo configurations. - User Enablement: Partner with other development teams across Adobe to ensure applications are crafted to be cloud-native and scalable. Guide internal users on standard methodologies for using the CI/CD platform, helping them solve configuration and deployment errors. - Perform day-to-day operational tasks such as upgrades and patching of Argo or Kubernetes platform, or addressing security vulnerabilities. - Supervise the health of the platform and applications using tools like Prometheus and Grafana. - Handle tasks and projects with Agile methodologies such as Scrum. - Operational Excellence: Identify recurring issues in the support queue and collaborate with the engineering team to propose permanent fixes or automation. - Incident Management (CSO): Respond to and drive the resolution of high- priority production issues (CSO) to minimize downtime and impact on development velocity. - Participate in on-call rotation to resolve and get to the bottom of root cause as part of Incident & Problem management. - Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in container orchestration and cloud-native development. What you need to succeed: - B.Tech Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. - Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience working with Kubernetes. - Strong software development skills in Go Lang. Experience with Python or similar languages preferred. - Familiarity with the 12-factor principles and software development lifecycle. - You understand how to manage GIT Ops pipelines and debug workflow failures. Experience with GitHub Actions is preferred. - Familiarity and expertise with modern build systems such as Bazel is preferred. - CI/CD Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Argo CD, Workflows, Rollouts, Events and Deployments - Packaging & Configuration: Proficiency with Helm charts for managing Kubernetes applications. - Kubernetes Expertise: Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and Docker, resource management, and solving issues. You should be comfortable navigating complex clusters. - Experienced with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms. (AWS / Azure certifications encouraged.) - Understanding of cloud network architectures (VNET/VPC/Nat Gateway/Envoy etc.) - A solid understanding of time-series monitoring tools (such as Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) - Certified Kubernetes Administrator and/or Developer/Security certifications encouraged. - Debugging Mentality: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to trace issues across distributed systems and containerized microservices. - Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with and assist internal engineering customers.
