About the role
OVERALL MISSION / PURPOSE
Responsible for firmware architecture, development, validation, and maintenance for server power supply units (PSUs). This role drives high‑quality embedded solutions that enable reliable, efficient, and intelligent power systems for hyperscale and enterprise server applications.
KEY RESULTS AREAS / DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & TIME SPENT ON THE DUTY
Firmware development
Strong knowledge of embedded system architecture and implementation.
Familiar with various MCU/DSP families (e.g., ARM Cortex, STM32, TI C2000).
Hands‑on experience with HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) development and debugging.
Responsible for code implementation, integration, maintenance, and documentation aligned with industry best practices.
Solid understanding of control theory and real‑time control firmware for power electronics.
Experience with PSU housekeeping firmware, including PMBus command set, telemetry, and digital power management.
Familiar with RTOS‑based designs (FreeRTOS or similar) is a plus.
Experience with Python or C# for automation tools is a plus.
Experience with Git source control and branching strategies is a plus.
Firmware Architecture
Introduce modular, reusable firmware architectures to accelerate time‑to‑market and improve customer experience.
Design, develop, and maintain automation tools for process optimization, code quality validation, and development workflows.
Continuously monitor and improve engineering processes, efficiency, and reliability.
Drive continuous improvements in firmware design, testability, and long‑term maintainability.
Cross‑functional Collaboration & Communication
Present technical details and design proposals to internal teams and customers.
Effective verbal and written communication in both English and Mandarin.
Collaborate closely with global engineering teams to deliver high‑quality firmware under fast‑paced schedules.
Leverage shared architectures and modules from other sites to improve efficiency.
Research industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer requirements to guide design decisions
Tool Development & Debug Support
Develop and maintain software tools that support PSU debugging, telemetry analysis, and firmware validation.
Utilize Git to manage source code, perform versioning, and ensure development traceability.
Apply modern firmware/software architecture principles to enhance scalability and modularity of PSU FW systems.
