Job Title: Configuration Librarian (CMDB Administrator) ========================================== Job Name:Configuration Librarian (CMDB Administrator) Location: Chennai, India Exp:3 - 5 Years Notice Period: 15 days Job Overview The Configuration Librarian (also known as the CMDB Administrator) serves as the guardian of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This critical role ensures the accuracy, integrity, completeness, and compliant usage of all Configuration Items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle, in full alignment with ITIL Configuration Management principles. Key Responsibilities Act as the guardian of all Configuration Items (CIs) registered within the CMDB. Control the receipt, identification, storage, and disposal of all supported CIs. Update CIs when required (e.g., items missed during the change process), based on evaluation of discovery scans and other data sources. Provide timely and accurate information on the status of CIs to stakeholders. Generate reports for defined KPIs, including CMDB completion and correctness. Monitor and enforce compliant usage of the CMDB across the organisation. Count, record, store, and distribute Configuration Management (CM) issues. Required Skills & Qualifications Deep knowledge of ServiceNow (specifically CMDB tables, CI classes, and relationships). Proficiency in data management & analysis, including data cleansing, normalisation, mapping, and validation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components and technologies. Familiarity with automated discovery tools (scanners) and experience with data integration techniques. Basic knowledge of SQL for data extraction; scripting skills for automating tasks are often preferred. Solid understanding of ITIL principles, particularly Configuration Management, Change Management, and Release Management.
