About the role
As a Project Manager / Design Manager in the Buildings and Places division at AECOM, you will play a crucial role in managing the design aspects of Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), and Structural Engineering projects. Your responsibilities will include: - Managing a portfolio of clients with multiple projects, ensuring flawless execution for repeat business and delivering planned profit margins. - Handling projects involving Risk Triggering Factors (RTF) and managing more complex clients and projects. - Making decisions and directing other Project Managers to recognize and mitigate risks and uncertainties. - Supervising and directing Project Managers to minimize exposure to claims. As a Project Manager / Design Manager, your key responsibilities will include: - Coordinating with various design teams to ensure cohesive design development, from planning to execution and closure. - Leading design teams, promoting creativity and collaboration, and ensuring effective communication and information flow. - Overseeing the design process from concept to completion, monitoring progress, and upholding quality standards. - Establishing and maintaining design quality standards, reviewing deliverables for compliance with client requirements and industry best practices. - Serving as a key contact for internal teams, providing guidance and support to ensure clarity in design objectives and methodologies. - Managing project budgets, optimizing resources, and implementing strategies for cost-effective design operations. Qualifications & Experience required for this role: - Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field, with at least 10 years of experience. - Experience in Transport Architecture (train stations, airports) will be an added advantage. - Proven experience as a Project Manager or Design Manager within a design consultancy environment. - Strong knowledge of Architecture, MEP, and Structural Engineering design processes. - PMP certification would be an added advantage. - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in design and project management software and tools.
