Manufacturing Engineering | Aero Engine (Greenfield)

Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) Manufacturing Engineering (Aero Engine Components) Experience: 15 years total, including 10+ years in Aero Engine manufacturing and 5 years in precision / general engineering manufacturing Role Summary: The Manufacturing Engineering SME will lead process development, manufacturability improvement, and productivity initiatives for aero engine components. The role demands deep domain expertise in machining, special processes, and manufacturing optimization for high-precision aero Engine components. Key Responsibilities: Develop and validate manufacturing processes for aero engine components. Review and optimize machining strategies, cutting parameters, and tooling for complex materials like Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steels. Support process design, layout planning, and technology selection for new product development. Drive process capability improvements (Cp, Cpk) and ensure adherence to aerospace quality and regulatory requirements. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process deviations or non-conformances. Develop detailed process documentation: PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Sheets, and Tooling Drawings. Introduce automation and digital manufacturing practices where feasible. Lead continuous improvement (CI) and cost-reduction initiatives (LEAN, Kaizen, Six Sigma). Identify and implement advanced manufacturing technologies. Benchmark and deploy best practices from global aero engine manufacturing setups. Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Aerospace / Production / Industrial Engineering 15+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with 10+ years in aerospace engine components. Strong hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, special processes (plating, coating, heat treatment), and assembly processes. Familiar with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP, FAIR, PPAP, SPC). Proficient in CAD/CAM tools. Exposure to process certification, customer audits (Rolls-Royce, GE, Safran, HAL) preferred.
