Associate Data Scientist

Aera Technology is looking for an Associate Data Scientist who has a strong aptitude for understanding data, extracting insights, and translating those insights into robust machine learning or statistical models. As an Associate Data Scientist at Aera Technology, you will be responsible for owning the full modeling workflow, starting from exploratory analysis and feature engineering to deploying reproducible pipelines into production for customers. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with product and domain experts to translate ambiguous business questions into clear analytical and modeling problems. - Conduct deep exploratory data analysis (EDA) on complex and often incomplete datasets to validate data quality, uncover patterns, and develop hypotheses. - Design and implement features, select appropriate modeling approaches, and benchmark alternatives. - Write clean, structured Python code and notebooks for interactive analysis, experimentation, and result communication. - Build end-to-end data and modeling pipelines that are modular, testable, and reproducible. - Work with engineering teams to deploy models on the Aera platform, including packaging, versioning, monitoring, and validation. - Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders using visualizations, narratives, and live walkthroughs. Qualifications: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field. - 13 years of experience in data science, data analysis, or ML engineering, or equivalent strong project/internship experience. - Proficiency in Python for data analysis, including pandas, NumPy, and common scientific/ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn); familiarity with TensorFlow/PyTorch is a plus. - Experience with EDA and statistical analysis, working in notebooks to explore data iteratively. - Good knowledge of SQL and data manipulation, capable of joining, aggregating, and transforming data from multiple sources. - Ability to structure code into reusable components and apply basic software engineering practices. - Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a preference for data-backed decision making. Nice to Have: - Exposure to production ML/analytics systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and distributed data frameworks (e.g., Spark). - Domain experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations.
