About the role
As a Test Automation Architect Playwright at our Hyderabad office, you will play a crucial role in leading our quality engineering strategy by designing, implementing, and scaling enterprise-level test automation frameworks. Your deep technical expertise in Playwright and TypeScript, along with a strong architectural mindset, will be instrumental in fostering a "quality-first" culture within our engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: - Framework Design: Architect, build, and scale robust, maintainable, and highly efficient test automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript. - Strategy & Vision: Define automation strategies for web UI, API, and mobile platforms across multiple product lines, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals. - CI/CD & DevSecOps: Lead the integration of automated testing into advanced CI/CD pipelines, establishing quality gates, parallel execution strategies, and continuous testing feedback loops. - Technical Leadership: Mentor and upskill SDETs and QA engineers through code reviews, training, and pair programming. Act as the ultimate technical escalation point for automation-related challenges. - Tool Evaluation: Continuously evaluate new testing tools, libraries, and best practices to keep the QA technology stack modern and efficient. - Performance & Scale: Implement strategies for non-functional testing, including performance, security, and accessibility, alongside functional automation. - Reporting & Metrics: Design unified dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide leadership with clear visibility into test coverage, pass rates, and software quality metrics. Qualifications: - 10 to 15 years of extensive experience in software engineering and quality assurance, with at least 3+ years in an Architect or Lead capacity. - Proven track record of designing custom automation frameworks (Page Object Model, Screenplay pattern, Data-driven, BDD/TDD). - Extensive experience with modern CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Strong grasp of microservices architecture, API integrations, and database concepts. - Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and running tests in distributed environments. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and present technical strategies to senior stakeholders.
