Mechanical Draughtsman

Job Description Mechanical Draftsman Position: Mechanical Draftsman Department: Mechanical Engineering Experience: 5+ Years Qualification: ITI (NCTVT) / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / CAD Designer Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Draftsman to prepare detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings for industrial equipment. The candidate should have strong drafting skills, good knowledge of engineering standards, and experience in creating accurate fabrication and manufacturing drawings using CAD software. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed 2D/3D engineering and manufacturing drawings using CAD software. Develop layouts, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, schematics, and detailed component drawings. Prepare and verify Bills of Materials (BOM) and drawing documentation. Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, tolerances, and compliance with applicable standards. Update and revise drawings based on engineering changes, customer comments, and manufacturing requirements. Coordinate with engineering, production, vendors, and site teams to resolve drawing-related queries. Ensure timely release of drawings and documents as per project schedules. Maintain drawing revisions and documentation through ERP systems. Support standardization initiatives and continuous improvement in drafting practices. Visit manufacturing shops, vendor locations, or project sites whenever required to resolve technical issues. Required Skills Excellent knowledge of Engineering Drawing and Geometrical concepts. Strong knowledge of 2D drafting using AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software. Basic knowledge of 3D CAD software will be an added advantage. Knowledge of AutoLISP will be preferred. Good understanding of weight, area, and basic engineering calculations. Knowledge of welding symbols, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing processes. Ability to understand P&IDs and engineering documentation. Experience in preparing manufacturing drawings and BOMs. Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
