Freight Analyst

Role Overview: As a Freight Analyst at AGT Food and Ingredients Inc., your primary responsibility will be to interpret shipping data in order to drive cost savings and enhance operational efficiency. You will play a crucial role in monitoring the global freight market, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring smooth movement of cargo across borders. Key Responsibilities: - Logistics Optimization: Analyze freight costs and transit times to identify the most efficient routes for containerized cargo. - Vessel & Container Management: Monitor vessel schedules, port congestion, and equipment availability to mitigate delays. - Market Intelligence: Track global shipping trends and freight rate fluctuations to support procurement strategies. - Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards to track KPI performance across import and export lanes. - Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with global trade desks and external freight forwarders to ensure alignment. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, Economics, or a related field. - Proven experience in ocean freight analytics or international logistics. - Deep understanding of import/export documentation, Incoterms, and container shipping operations. - Advanced proficiency in Excel (SQL or Power BI experience is a major plus). - Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple carrier contracts. - A proactive problem-solver with the capability to navigate the dynamic landscape of global logistics.
