AutoCAD Drafter – Roof Deck & Metal Deck Experience: 5–10 Years Location: Remote (Work from Home) Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time No. of Positions: 2–3 Notice Period: Immediate Joiners Preferred Industry: US Commercial Construction / Engineering Services Educational Qualification : Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. What We Are Looking For 5+ years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD drafting for US commercial or industrial construction projects. Proven experience preparing Roof Deck and Metal Deck shop drawings using AutoCAD. Strong ability to read and interpret US architectural, structural, and construction drawings, specifications, and project documents. Hands-on experience producing EPS insulating concrete roof deck layouts and/or metal deck shop drawings. Experience coordinating roof layouts around penetrations, mechanical equipment, openings, and field conditions. Strong understanding of shop drawing standards, construction documentation, and revision workflows. Prior experience supporting US-based architects, engineers (A/E), contractors, or construction firms is highly preferred. Experience handling drawing revisions, RFIs, markups, and approval comments with quick turnaround. Ability to independently manage complete drawing packages from document receipt through final submission. Strong knowledge of AutoCAD with exposure to Revit, BIM workflows, or construction detailing being an added advantage. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to deliver highly accurate drawing packages. Good English communication skills with experience collaborating directly with US engineering and construction teams. Responsibilities Prepare Roof Deck and Metal Deck shop drawings using AutoCAD for US commercial construction projects. Interpret architectural and structural drawings, sections, specifications, and construction documents. Produce accurate EPS insulating concrete roof deck layouts and detailing. Coordinate layouts around rooftop equipment, penetrations, and structural openings. Review project documentation, identify discrepancies, and seek clarifications when required. Incorporate client, architect, engineer, and contractor review comments into revised drawing packages. Maintain organized drawing files, revision histories, and project documentation. Coordinate directly with US-based engineering, project management, and construction teams. Ensure all deliverables meet project specifications, quality standards, and submission timelines. Manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy and productivity. Support project teams throughout shop drawing review and approval cycles. Continuously improve drafting quality, workflow efficiency, and documentation standards. Qualifications Diploma / bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. 5+ years of experience in AutoCAD drafting for US construction projects. Strong expertise in AutoCAD and construction drawing interpretation. Experience preparing Roof Deck, Metal Deck, or Structural Shop Drawings. Good understanding of US construction standards, shop drawing processes, and construction documentation. Experience working with US clients, architects, engineers, or contractors is highly preferred. Exposure to Revit, BIM, or structural detailing software will be an added advantage. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
