About the role
As a frontend engineer at our company, you will be responsible for working on our web and connected TV applications. Your main focus will be on building new features, maintaining the existing app, and ensuring high performance. Collaboration with product, design, and backend engineers will also be a key part of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Design, build, and maintain frontend applications using React and/or SolidJS. - Write reusable UI components for easy maintenance by others. - Integrate REST APIs and asynchronous data sources. - Debug and resolve frontend bugs. - Profile and enhance rendering, memory usage, and startup time. - Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions with team members. Qualifications Required: - Hands-on experience with React or SolidJS, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and Node.js. - Working understanding of data structures, algorithms, asynchronous programming, API integration, state management, component-driven architecture, frontend design patterns, and cross-browser behavior. Nice to have: - Familiarity with LightningJS or similar rendering frameworks for constrained hardware, HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, GPU-accelerated rendering, and development for Smart TVs, set-top boxes, Android TV, Fire TV, Tizen, or webOS. - Experience in video streaming technologies like HLS, MPEG-DASH, adaptive bitrate streaming, and DRM systems such as Widevine and PlayReady. - Knowledge of rendering pipelines, texture management, animation performance, optimization for low-memory devices, Web Assembly, Service Workers, Web Workers, browser internals, and video player integration.
