The DBT (Data Build Tool) Developer plays a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights within an organization. You'll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing data transformation and modeling processes using the DBT framework. This position is essential for ensuring data integrity, facilitating efficient analytics, and promoting data-driven decision-making across departments. As a DBT Developer, you'll work closely with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to create robust data pipelines that support various business use cases. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing the data landscape of the organization, improving overall data quality, and delivering insightful business intelligence. This role requires a blend of technical skills, analytical abilities, and a collaborative spirit to succeed in a fast-paced and data-centric environment. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain data transformation workflows using DBT.Collaborate with data engineers to ensure seamless integration with source systems.Implement and manage data models to ensure data quality and consistency.Create robust testing frameworks to validate data transformations and outputs.Optimize performance of existing DBT models and queries.Document data models, transformation processes, and business logic clearly.Work with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements.Support the deployment of DBT models in multiple environments (development, staging, production).Maintain version control and use Git for collaboration on data projects.Integrate DBT with various data tools and platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to peers on best practices.Stay updated with the latest trends and features in the DBT ecosystem.Participate in data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with data policies.Assist in training team members on DBT and best practices.Develop supportive relationships with cross-functional teams to enhance data analytics capabilities.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field. 5 to 8 years of experience working with DBT or similar data transformation tools.Proficient in SQL and experience with database management systems.Strong background in data modeling and ETL processes.Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery, AWS).Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.Experience with data quality and testing methodologies.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience in Agile methodologies is beneficial.Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality data solutions.Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.Experience in mentoring junior staff or training team members is a plus. .
