About the role
Role: BI Reporting Engineer Location: India, Remote Experience: 8+ Years Role overview We are looking for a BI / Reporting Engineer to design and deliver embedded analytics for a supply chain transaction platform. This role will focus on building transparent, reliable dashboards that provide visibility into transaction flows, errors and operational performance across EDI - driven systems. You will work closely with data engineers and business stakeholders to translate raw transaction data into actionable insights that support operations and decision - making. Key responsibilities: - Design and develop dashboards using Sigma or Metabase for supply chain analytics. - Build reports focused on: - Transaction success and failure rates - Error categorization and trends - Throughput by partner, document type and time - Identification of delayed or failed transactions - Develop and maintain a semantic layer to ensure consistent KPI definitions across reports. - Work with data engineering teams to ensure data models support reporting needs. - Embed dashboards into applications using iframe or similar integration approaches. - Optimize queries and dashboards for performance and scalability. - Validate reporting outputs against underlying data for accuracy. - Use AI tools (Copilot, LLMs) to assist in writing complex SQL queries for dashboards. - Leverage AI to accelerate KPI definition, metric calculations and reporting logic. - Use AI to explore data patterns and assist in building meaningful visualizations. - Validate AI - generated queries and metrics to ensure business accuracy and consistency. Required Skills and qualifications: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). - 8+ years of experience in BI / reporting / analytics engineering. - Hands - on experience with Sigma or Metabase (at least one required). - Strong SQL skills with ability to work on large transactional datasets. - E .
