Automation Engineer (Playwright Expert with Java Selenium) (Hyderabad)

Senior Automation Test Engineer Location: Hyderabad/Pune Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days/week in office) Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer to lead end-to-end quality assurance and test automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Selenium, Playwright, and CI/CD practices, with a proven track record of designing and building automation frameworks from scratch. This role requires ownership of testing strategy, automation architecture, and quality assurance across the software development lifecycle. Must-Have Skills: - Strong hands-on experience with Playwright - Strong hands-on experience with Selenium - Experience integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines Preferred Skills: - Strong experience with BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) and TDD (Test-Driven Development) frameworks - Proven experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch - Robust understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile delivery practices - Experience with test automation strategy and framework architecture Key Responsibilities: - Own the end-to-end testing lifecycle, including planning, execution, reporting, and quality governance. - Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable and reusable automation frameworks. - Create and execute automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, and related tools. - Perform system testing, integration testing, regression testing, and release validation. - Define and execute comprehensive test strategies, including: - Risk-based testing - Acceptance criteria-based testing - Functional and non-functional testing approaches - Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster release cycles. - Produce, maintain, and enhance testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, execution reports, and framework documentation. - Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure quality objectives are met. - Monitor, track, and communicate testing progress, risks, defects, and quality metrics. - Mentor team members and drive best practices in automation and quality engineering. Required Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Senior Automation Test Engineer or similar role. - Expert knowledge of Selenium and Playwright. - Strong experience with CI/CD tools and continuous testing practices. - Demonstrated ability to build automation frameworks from the ground up. - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and documentation skills. .
