The Opportunity We are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join our IT team at Allegro MicroSystems. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining our Electronic Design Automation Tools and High-Performance Compute (HPC) job scheduler, as well as collaborating with the EDA team. They will also be responsible for providing technical support to the EDA team, and interfacing with internal customers to provide technical assistance and resolve issues. What You'll Do Install, configure, and maintain EDA tools, our HPC job scheduler and license servers. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to EDA Tool installation, license servers and HPC job scheduler. Ensure timely resolution of high severity incidents, including communications, reporting, and tracking of follow-ups. Monitor system performance and identify and resolve performance issues. Create and maintain documentation on system configurations and procedures. Collaborate with the EDA team to ensure seamless integration of EDA tools and Linux infrastructure. Provide technical support to internal customers of EDA Tools and HPC job scheduler. Keep up to date with new technologies and best practices related to EDA Tool installation and configuration. What You Will Need Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field Linux Admin Professional Certification is a plus. At least 2 years of experience in Linux system administration Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and servers Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 & 8 Requires fluency in English Role is hybrid and in our Buenos Aires office 3 days per week Desired Qualifications Experience with a HPC job scheduler such as LSF, SGE, UGE, PBS Works or Altair Accelerator (a.k.a. RTDA Network Computer). Experience with EDA Tools such as Cadence, Siemens (Mentor Graphics) & Synopsys. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware Experience with FlexLM license servers Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interface with customers and provide technical assistance. Ability to communicate in non-technical terms to non-technical people. Ability to prioritize and organize effectively. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
