JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary:

We are seeking a DBT & Snowflake Developer to drive the design and delivery of scalable analytics and regulatory reporting solutions within a modern cloud data ecosystem. This role will play a critical part in supporting Regulatory Reporting requirements, implementing a revised data architecture, and enabling new product onboarding as part of a Business Insurance re‑platforming initiative.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in SQL, Dimensional data modeling, DBT, and Snowflake. Candidate will partner closely with existing team, regulatory, Business, Upstream technology teams to ensure data accuracy, lineage, auditability, and compliance while modernizing legacy data pipelines into a robust, analytics‑ready platform.

Key Responsibilities

Design and development of analytics-ready data models using DBT and Snowflake

Understanding of fact and dimension tables using star and snowflake schemas

Refactor complex SQL logic into modular, reusable DBT models

Establish and enforce DBT best practices (naming conventions, testing, documentation, and versioning)

Design and manage incremental models and materializations for scalable data processing

Own data quality and testing strategy using built-in and custom dbt tests

Optimize SQL and Snowflake performance through efficient query design and tuning

Oversee job orchestration and scheduling of DBT pipelines using Fivetran/Airflow.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required Technical Skills

SQL & Databases

Expert-level Snowflake SQL skills (joins, CTEs, window functions, query optimization)

Strong understanding of relational databases

Proven experience in performance tuning and large-scale data processing

Data Modeling

In-depth knowledge of Fact and dimension tables, Star and Snowflake schemas.

Experience designing analytics and reporting-friendly data layers

DBT (Data Build Tool)

Strong hands-on experience with DBT Core, including:

Models, sources, seeds, snapshots

Incremental models and materializations

Refactoring SQL into layered DBT architectures

Jinja templating (macros, variables, conditional logic)

DBT Testing:

Built-in tests (not null, unique, accepted values)

Custom test development

Documentation using schema.yml

Version control using GitHub

Familiarity with Fivetran/Airflow for dbt job orchestration

Working knowledge of Unix/Linux commands

Nice to Have

Exposure to cloud data platforms and cost optimization strategies

Exposure to Power BI & Python.
