About the role
Job Title: System Administrator Job Type: Full-time Reports to: Principal / Manager IT Key Responsibilities: - Administer and maintain the Organizations network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. - Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure optimal network security. - Implement and maintain network security protocols, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems. - Manage and maintain the Institutions server infrastructure, including file servers, email servers, and domain controllers. - Perform routine server maintenance, updates, and backups to ensure data integrity and availability. - Provide technical support to students, teachers, and staff, addressing hardware and software issues promptly. - Assist with user account management, password resets, and access control. - Install, update, and maintain software applications used in the educational environment, including learning management systems (LMS), student information systems (SIS), and classroom software. - Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. - Manage inventory and perform hardware maintenance, repairs, and upgrades as needed. - Coordinate with vendors for hardware warranty and repair services. - Maintain documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures for reference and training purposes. - Create and update IT policies and guidelines as necessary. - Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate technology into the curriculum effectively. - Assist in planning and implementing technology initiatives to enhance the educational experience. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred). Relevant certifications Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator will be a plus. Proven experience in IT administration, preferably in an educational setting. Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and software applications commonly used in schools/colleges. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for providing technical support and collaborating with various stakeholders.
