At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time N&T Radio Designer in Bangkok we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your telecommunication and system design expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, innovative, and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in developing and implementing Train-to-Wayside Communication System designs, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as signalling, system architecture, and third-party vendors), prepare and execute radio surveys, and support site installations, testing, and commissioning, among other responsibilities.

You’ll specifically take care of delivering TWC designs, including TWC, MICA, and IPT systems, and ensuring compliance with quality processes and design rules, but also troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise.

We’ll look to you for:

Delivering TWC designs based on requirements, design rules, and best practices inherited from previous projects

Elaborating TWC Bill of Quantities (BoQ) as a support to PrIDM

Preparing and executing radio surveys

Interfacing with other subsystems and third parties for design and implementation

Providing iterations of TWC software and configurations until the project is completed

Conducting off-site tests for project-specific radio functionality and performance verification

Providing remote and onsite support for TWC installation, testing, and commissioning

Ensuring on-time delivery in line with project DFQ while minimizing lead time, cost, and risks

Preparing and participating in design reviews

Leading efforts to resolve radio technical issues, including troubleshooting, analysis, and technical clarifications

Collecting and recording TWC REX (Return of Experience)

Preparing and conducting TWC Operation and Maintenance (O&M) training for customers

Maintaining constant communication with team members and the N&T subsystem leader

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

Degree in Telecommunication, Electrical, Computer, or a similar engineering subject

Knowledge of data communication systems and wireless communication

Strong communication skills in English – listening, speaking, reading, and writing

Knowledge of signalling systems and system architecture

Agile, inclusive, and responsible mindset

Basic programming skills

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Experience in troubleshooting and driving results

Ability to prioritize tasks and a process-oriented approach

A team player attitude

Experience in the design or test and commissioning of signalling subsystems with involvement in the design lifecycle

Familiarity with railway industry standards

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

Experience in writing technical papers or reports

Involvement in requirement management and change management processes

Knowledge of electrical wiring design (a plus)

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

Work with new security standards for rail signalling

Collaborate with transverse teams and supportive colleagues

Contribute to innovative projects

Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment

Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

Progress towards leadership or technical expert roles

Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
