Could you be the full-time Project RS On-Board Design Engineer in Bengaluru we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in on-board electronic system design in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You'll play a key role in delivering systems that meet customer expectations while adhering to project schedules. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including the Rolling Stock engineering team, project core team, and system development teams), act as the technical interface with suppliers, and ensure system integration and validation, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of defining system architecture, managing requirements, and validating solutions, but also organizing design reviews and supporting risk and savings reviews.

We’ll look to you for:

Providing design specifications and monitoring validation solutions up to customer acceptance

Ensuring external interfaces are consistent with the system

Supervising and participating in system deliveries, including architecture definition and system performance

Organizing and leading design reviews

Defining functional validation phases (PC, bench, TrainLab, train)

Supporting the Project Engineering Manager with transparency on QCD performance

Acting as the technical interface with suppliers and ensuring compliance with Alstom standards

Performing network diagnostics, troubleshooting, and validation testing for onboard Ethernet IP data/message exchanges

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent

Experience in on-board electronic system design, even if outside the railway domain

Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, LAN configuration, and network protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP, SNMP, NTP)

Familiarity with TRDP (Train Real-time Data Protocol) and its validation/integration testing

Desirable training in network and telecom, IT services, or cybersecurity

Experience in QCD supplier management

Strong verbal and written English communication skills

Ability to work transversally with engineering teams

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

Work with new security standards for rail signaling

Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

Contribute to innovative projects

Utilize our agile and inclusive working environment

Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

Progress towards becoming an expert in system design and integration

Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
