Could you be the full-time SAP ABAP Specialist in Bangalore we’re looking for? Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your SAP ABAP expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You'll ensure the quality of ERP Roll-Out project deliveries, whether handled internally or delegated to external partners. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (ERP Technical Managers, SAP Dev Stream Leaders, and external partners), conduct technical design validations, and support continuous improvement efforts, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of code reviews and technical documentation updates, but also troubleshooting and providing technical expertise to internal teams and partners.

We’ll look to you for:

Creating or approving technical designs for ERP Roll-Out projects

Performing ABAP programming, testing, and debugging for SAP module implementations and enhancements

Ensuring the quality and stability of deployed code

Controlling the quality of delivery from external partners in your area of expertise

Conducting regular ABAP code reviews before preproduction moves

Troubleshooting ABAP code issues and providing Level 3 expertise

Performing POCs and feasibility analyses for the Core Team

Ensuring Alstom’s best practices and development norms are followed

Updating and maintaining technical documentation

Providing regular reporting to management and stakeholders

Aligning with other IS&T teams, internal stakeholders, and strategic partners

All about you

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field

5+ years of relevant experience in ABAP development

Experience in both Run and Project contexts

Knowledge of PI, Solman, Fiori, and Hana concepts

Strong skills in programming tools and techniques such as Report Transaction creation, Enhancements, Conversion Programs, SAPscript, SmartForms, and more

Hands-on experience in SAP Mobility (SUP/Syclo/NetWeaver Mobile) and OData Services using SAP NetWeaver Gateway

Good knowledge of JavaScript and Form calc

Experience with EDI, ALE, and IDOC

Clear communication and planning abilities

Structured problem-solving methodology and critical thinking skills

A willingness to learn and adapt
